Paddington

A chick residential area, which was restored in the 1960's, Now it is full of Victorian terraces worth a fortune. Oxford Street runs through Paddington which is the main shopping and eating area.

Juniper Hall


Juniper Hall, Paddington, one of the oldest houses in eastern Sydney, re-emerged from its hiding place behind a row of shops in Oxford Street, in time for the Australian Bicentenary and was officially opened by the National Trust in April 1988.

Sydney Jewish Museum

Victoria Barracks


First home to the British, then NSW and now the Australian Army - this colonial Georgian complex is still very active today. Open Thursdays from 10am, it has a flag raising ceremony and marching band, followed by guided tours of both the museum and the barracks.
